My very favorite Valentine gave me a wonderful weekend. On our road trip from Wyoming to Arizona we stopped and stayed with Colt’s friend Crazy Cody. Crazy Cody lives in Pagosa Springs Colorado. So while in Pagosa we ventured out to Wolf Creek to ski. Colt is a pro on skis. Growing up in Colorado he learned his way around many a mountains on snow. I however grew up in sandhills and went sledding. I did have the good fortune of taking a 3-4 day ski trip in high school to Laramie, Wyoming. But that was over 10 years ago, and this mountain was much more intimidating. However a fun day was had by all and I survived. My husband was very patient and made sure I didn’t get hurt!

Arizona to Wyoming Valentine’s Ski Weekend

I think I’ll shut up now…
So on Monday I was really feeling sorry for myself. I was quite traumatized from the winter storm. It was so cold! I had to be outside for a total of maybe 20 minutes. I layered on my carhartts and braved through waist high drifts to the barn. The barn is maybe 50 yards from my house, maybe not even that far! And my poor horse! He got snow in his stall, geez it is rough living in Wyoming!
But then….
I saw some pictures of my brothers weekend. I rememberd. Remembered what you ask?
I remembered what it’s like to live in the Nebraska Sandhills…during calving season.

They have totally lost their minds in the next few shots. I would so not be smiling!

So My dear brother and dear brother’s girlfriend! I am going to leave playing cowboy up to you too! I don’t think I’m tough enough!
